UPDATED ADMISSIONS PROCESS DUE TO THE STAY-AT-HOME ORDER (COVID-19):

Due to the Stay-at-Home order, IPoly is continuing the admissions and entrance exam process remotely. Applicants will be sent updated information as it becomes available. Please continue to email or mail in application material and updated report cards. You may contact admissions directly via phone or email with any questions.

Thank you for your interest in IPoly. The 2021-22 school year application is now available. The deadline to apply and participate in the lottery is March 19, 2021. The application for the 2020-21 school year is also available; applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Please see details below regarding the application process. Applications may be downloaded through the menu on the left hand side of this web page.

    When to Apply
Students apply in 8th grade to enter as freshmen. Students transfering from other high schools should submit high school transcripts for review prior to applying to determine eligibility (spaces are limited).

    Entrance Exam
Beginning late January, entrance exams will be given on weekends to students that meet minimum entry requirements (see application for details). Incoming freshmen and transfer students are required to pass the entrance exam in order to move forward in the application process.

    Lottery Drawing
8th grade students that pass the entrance exam will enter a lottery drawing, scheduled for mid-April, 2021. 136 freshman students will be selected to fill the freshman class. After the lottery, applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Once spaces are filled, a waiting list will be created.

    Application Deadline
The next deadline for incoming freshmen to apply and enter the lottery will be in March 19, 2021. After the deadline, applications will continue to be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

IPoly accepts applications from students that are transferring from other high schools year-round on a first come, first served basis. Acceptance of high school transfer students is contingent on whether IPoly has openings, due to pre-existing waiting lists.

    Notification
Due to the high volume of applications, patience is greatly appreciated. Applicants will be notified via mail regarding any missing documents. Eligible students with completed applications will be invited to an entrance exam.

    Limited Openings
Space is limited to 136 students per grade level. Once the spaces are filled, remaining student names will then be drawn to create a waiting list. Students placed on the waiting list will be contacted once there is an opening.

The waiting list will be valid through the next school year. Students that do not get in as freshmen will have an option to reapply for the following year, and maintain their ranking on the waiting list; they will not have to re-test.

    Requirements
IPoly does not charge tuition, however, students must apply and meet eligibility requirements (including a two-year 2.5 academic GPA, acceptable discipline history, and recommendations), and pass an entrance exam. Detailed requirements are explained in the application. Students may live in any city and attend the school.
